Durham
A historic city that still needs to stay comfortable
Durham's cathedral and castle are a World Heritage Site, and a lot of the city centre sits in a conservation area. That doesn't mean you can't have air conditioning, but it does mean the outdoor unit needs to go in the right place. Usually that's a rear wall or garden, out of view from the street.
Outside the centre it's a different story. Family homes in Belmont, Framwellgate Moor and Newton Hall, and terraced houses in the old colliery villages, are generally straightforward. We're a short drive away in Stockton, so we cover the whole county.
- Heritage areas
In the conservation area and for listed buildings, we check what's allowed before we quote.
- Landlords and student lets
Quiet, efficient systems that tenants can control, with servicing to keep them running.
- Whole county covered
From Chester-le-Street to Spennymoor and the villages in between.

For homes
Terraces, semis and family homes
Most Durham homes suit a wall mounted system, and colliery terraces are often simpler to fit than people expect. We'll keep the outdoor unit out of sight where we can.

FAQs
Air con in Durham: your questions
Still unsure? Call us on 0330 043 7869, 7 days a week.
Can I have air conditioning in central Durham?
Often, yes. Much of the centre is a conservation area, so the outdoor unit usually needs to go somewhere it can't be seen from the street. Listed buildings need consent. We check your address before quoting.
How much does air con cost in Durham?
A wall mounted system starts from £2,000 fully fitted. Two rooms on one outdoor unit start from £3,800.
Do you fit air con in rented houses?
Yes. We work with landlords across Durham and can set up servicing so the system keeps running well between tenancies.
Can it heat as well as cool?
Yes. All our systems are heat pumps, so they heat in winter and cool in summer.
Do you cover villages outside the city?
Yes. We install across County Durham, including Chester-le-Street, Spennymoor, Consett, Seaham and the villages in between.
