What affects the price
Five things that change the cost
Room size
Bigger rooms need more power. A 2.5kW unit suits most bedrooms, while open-plan spaces need 5.0kW or more.
Number of rooms
Each extra room adds an indoor unit. Multi split systems run several rooms from one outdoor unit.
Brand and finish
Designer units like the Daikin Emura or a black finish cost a little more than standard white.
Access and position
A high wall outdoor unit (+£100) or a room on the second (+£150) or third floor (+£200) adds a set charge.
Pipe length
Up to 15m of pipework is included. Longer runs are quoted in writing before you commit.
Running costs
What does it cost to run?
Air conditioning is a heat pump. It moves heat rather than creating it, so it gives out around 4 units of heat for every 1 unit of electricity.
Heating one room for a winter typically needs about 3,000kWh of heat. At 25p per kWh, a plug-in electric heater would cost around £750, while an air conditioner with a SCOP of 4.6 would cost around £163.
Estimate only. Your costs depend on your home, tariff and how you use the system.

How much does it cost to install air conditioning in one room?
A fully installed wall mounted system for one room starts from £2,000 with Airomax, including the units, installation, up to 15m of pipework and commissioning. Larger rooms need a bigger unit, up to around £2,850.
How much does air conditioning cost for a whole house?
For two rooms on one outdoor unit, prices start from £3,800. Three rooms start from £6,000 and four rooms from £7,500. Whole-home ducted systems start from £3,600 for one room.
Is air conditioning expensive to run?
Less than most people expect. Modern systems are heat pumps, so they move heat rather than make it. Heating a room typically costs around a quarter of a plug-in electric heater.
Are there any extra costs?
Our prices are fixed and fully fitted. A few situations add a set charge, such as a high wall position for the outdoor unit (+£100), a second floor room (+£150) or a third floor room (+£200). You'll see these before you book.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. 0% finance is available on selected systems through PayItMonthly, subject to status.
